Greening Our City is a new project from Innovate Trust which supports adults with learning disabilities to take part in environmental conservation work. Project participants will be able to improve their employability skills and wellbeing through carrying out improvement work in green spaces across Cardiff. They will also take part in surveys to measure the environmental health of the city, such as the Big Butterfly Count!

Volunteers will assist staff in running activities and provide support to participants throughout the sessions. Volunteers are essential to ensuring that participants are engaged and having fun whilst they are out with the group.

Volunteers will:

  • Be given training relevant to your role
  • Be assigned a mentor and will receive regular supervision
  • Volunteer in a supportive environment with other staff present
  • Your expenses will be reimbursed

Volunteering hours can be flexible, volunteers will be expected to volunteer a minimum of once a month. Activities will run on weekdays between 9am and 5pm and will vary from 2 to 5 hours in durcation. You will be supprted to identify the right volunteer activities for you. Volunteering opportunities for this project are only available in Cardiff.
