Coronavirus Update: SVC is still open! Please click here for the latest information and news from our team.

Applications for 2018/19 volunteer opportunities are open!

Volunteering with SVC allows you to gain key employability skills, make new friends and give back to the local community.

Our beneficiaries include children, older people, adults with disabilities or mental health conditions, and homeless people. Supporting these members of the community means our volunteers have the opportunity to work with the NHS, the Police, local Third Sector Organisations and many more.

Our projects range from monthly to weekly commitments to suit all students, and you can view the wide range of our projects here

Volunteering with SVC provides additional experience to the skills gained through education, placements and employment, which has helped many of our previous volunteers in their careers, including Dr Lauren Davies:

"During my undergraduate degree at Cardiff University, I volunteered with SVC. I really enjoyed volunteering and I also gained a number of skills which have been invaluable for my future career as a clinical psychologist. This included improved communication and interpersonal skills, team work, problem solving, adaptability and using initiative, which are all essential skills. I would reccommend volunteering as a great starting point for anyone with an interest in a similiar career."
