ACCOUNTABLE TO:  SVC Manager

POSITION AVAILABLE:  39 Hours (Mon-Fri, 9-5)

SALARY:  £23,554 - £26,770 Pro Rata

Overview:

SVC is a volunteering charity based in the heart of Cardiff | SVC (svcymru.org). We support 400+ individuals to volunteer across a variety of different projects across South Wales. Our projects aim to combat feelings of loneliness and isolation within our different beneficiary groups; children and adults with disabilities, adults with mental health conditions, young carers and those experiencing homelessness. Our volunteers are predominantly students studying at the three local universities, but additionally volunteers from the local community.

We are seeking a full-time Mental Health & Community Project Co-ordinator to join our small and friendly team. To lead our partnership with Cardiff & the Vale Health Board, and supervise our NHS Placement Scheme – which currently supports 70+ volunteers across 12 mental health wards. The role will also oversee our partnership with the Huggard Centre, who support people experiencing homelessness in Cardiff.

Our Project Coordinators are the main point of contact and support for both our lead volunteers, and our project volunteers. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the training, supervision and vetting of our volunteers.

We are seeking an enthusiastic team player, who possesses a positive attitude towards disadvantaged people, excellent communication skills, flexibility and dedication.

The successful candidate will be mentored by the SVC Manager. The role will involve a combination of home-working, and office-based work in the Centre of Cardiff. With some travel to attend various volunteering projects, therefore the ability to drive would be advantageous but not essential.

An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for this role.
