Project Spotlight: Greenhill School

A big part of SVC’s work is furthering education, and helping young people achieve their potential.
That’s what our project based at Greenhill School is all about. Greenhill is specifically designed for pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and we are there to provide extra classroom support and assist pupils by keeping them concentrated and acting as positive role models.
Our aim is to improve the experience these young people have in education, by improving social skills, self-esteem and academic achievements.
As well as helping out in the classroom setting, we are also around for the more practical, outdoor lessons, which massively improves children’s concentration.
This project makes such a difference to the children and young people we work with at Greenhill, and to the volunteers who go there! It’s amazing experience for anyone looking to work in education or with young people and children in the future, and the changes you see yourself making in young people’s lives is incredibly rewarding.
This project runs Monday- Wednesday and Friday 9.00am-12.30pm
