This Winter Giving Week, SVC is running fantastic volunteering opportunities and events! Why not give your time to help vulnerable people around Cardiff this festive season!
Winter Giving Week Itinerary
Tuesday 4th December
10:30am-3:30pm - Golden Oldies Festive Afternoon Tea
Meeting at Cathays Methodist Church, volunteers will be helping to prepare the buffet and will socialise and spend time with the attendees whilst enjoying a festive afternoon tea!
11am-1pm - Winter volunteering at Porthkerry Park
Help us with some seasonal conservation work at Porthkerry Country Park, followed by a winter walk, mince pies and a hot drink! Wear some warm, old clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and be prepared to muck in!
5:30pm - 8pm - Help Santa's Sleigh in Whitchurch
Meeting in Whitchurch, assist Santa to meet the children of Whitchurch
Wednesday 5th December
11:30am- 11pm - Christmas party for adults with disabilities
Meeting at the SVC office at 11:30, volunteers help set up and support vulnerable adults at the biggest event of the SVC calendar. Food and refreshments and festive fun are provided!
3pm-5pm - Huggard Homeless Centre Christmas Party
meeting at SVC office, volunteers are required to help with various Christmas activities at the Huggard Centre
5:30pm-9pm - Ronald McDonald House Charities Carol Concert
Located at St Johns the Baptist church, the same location as last year, which is opposite the market in the centre of Cardiff. Volunteers will be involved in refreshments, ticket sales, seating and collections.
Thursday 6th December
12:45pm – 3pm - Festive Litter Pick
Help tidy up the streets of Cathays! Meeting at the SVC office, everyone will receive a Santa Hat on arrival.
5:30pm - 8pm - Help Santa's Sleigh in Llandaff North
This time meeting in Llandaff North, volunteers assist Santa to meet the children of Llandaff
Friday 7th December
2pm - 6pm Help the Elf Committee set up Santa's Grotto
Give any time you can between 2pm and 6pm to help the Elf Committee prepare the hall for the fair and decorate Santa’s grotto in Wesley Methodist Church, Canton.
Saturday 8th December
10am – 2pm Festive helpers at Innovate Trust's Christmas Fete
Also at Wesley Methodist Church, Canton. Help our Elf Committee to man the stalls, run Christmas craft activities or assist Santa to give out presents in the grotto!
