Hello! I’m Diana. In September 2025, I joined SVC as a member of the trustee board. I’m delighted to be part of the organisation, as I fully support SVC’s mission to help community members facing social and economic challenges, easing hardship and promoting inclusion. I bring to SVC over 13 years of experience as a lecturer in journalism and communication, with a focus on media representations of diversity, disability reporting, and the value of student-cantered pedagogy. I was first introduced to the world of volunteering through the South Wales Police Support Volunteer programme, where I learned the importance of teamwork in identifying and responding to community needs. Originally from Italy, I earned a degree in Romance Philology before moving to the UK to complete a Master’s in International Journalism, followed by a PhD in Journalism and Mass Communication. I then spent five years working in China at a transnational university before returning to Cardiff, where I have been living since 2022.
