My name is Nina and I am a General Trustee this year.
I am currently studying for a PhD in Mental Health Data Science at the University of Bristol, but first got involved with SVC when I was an undergraduate student at Cardiff studying maths. To begin with I was a volunteer on 'Home and Away' and coordinated the Amelia Trust Farm project. I was the on the Board for two years as Communications Officer and Secretary.
I moved away from Wales for two years after finishing my first degree to train as a Social Worker with the Frontline programmem, where I worked in Child Protection in a London local authority. Between working in social care, volunteering with SVC and working or volunteering with other organisations such as Mencap, Brandon Trust and New Pathways, I have a range of experiences which I can bring to my role as a Trustee.
This year I'm really excited to be back in Wales, and back to contributing to SVC. I am so proud of what our charity does for the community and am so excited to see where we go next.
