Friday Friends is a social group for young people aged 11-18 years old, who have a physical and/or learning disability. It aims to create a safe and supportive environment where the young people attending can socialise and develop key skills. The group meets fortnightly on a Friday either in a rented hall or out in the community. Sessions include a range of activities such as cooking, music, sports, plus so much more. Through the Friday Friends sessions the goal is to encourage the young people to have fun but also to support them during key developmental years to gain independence and find a sense of belonging.

General volunteers are responsible for ensuring the activities run smoothly during the sessions whilst also engaging with the attendees and creating a safe space for them to socialise. Applicants also have the opportunity to become a ‘lead’ volunteer on the project, where they will be responsible for planning the sessions and organising volunteer and beneficiary attendance. Please select which role you’d like to apply for on your application form or contact info@SVCymru.org for more information.
