The Gathering Spot is a social group, which takes place fortnightly on fridays, for young people aged 18-30 with physical and/or learning disabilities. Through these volunteer-led sessions, we aim to provide opportunities for the people attending to expand their skillsets in a way that feels fun and engaging. Whether they’re meeting in a rented venue or out and about in the community, we want everyone joining to feel safe and welcomed into the environment. Some of the things planned this year include, yoga, trips to a local university, meals out, plus so much more.
General volunteers are responsible for supporting beneficiaries to engage in the activities whilst ensuring the sessions run smoothly. Applicants also have the opportunity to become a ‘lead’ volunteer on the project, where they will have more responsibility by working in as part of a group to plan the sessions and organise volunteer and beneficiary attendance. Please select which role you’d like to apply for on your application form or please contact info@SVCymru.org for more information.
